An autumn wedding can move from a cold journey to a warm ceremony and then a damp walk across a venue. Choose an outfit that works through the day, with an outer layer that still feels part of the look.

Start with the invitation and venue

Check the dress code, ceremony time and whether the reception is indoors or on grass and gravel. A midi dress, tailored jumpsuit or well-cut separates can all work; the best choice is one you can sit, dance and travel in comfortably. Respect any specific requests from the couple.

Pick an outfit you can rewear
